Dr. Barrett has been listed on the Who's Who in Leading Professionals and Executives since 1996, was honored in 2000 as a lifetime member in Strathmore's Who's Who for Leadership and Achievement. He was also awarded recipient of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's, ' Houston's Singular Best' Award given for professional excellence and charitable and civic contributions to the Houston area. Dr. Barrett continues to be very involved in the community both through his office and personally. He has been an advocate for the Y.M.C.A. and served on the Board of Directors. He sponsors an annual food drive for the Fort Bend Food Pantry Human Needs Ministry that significantly impacts the well-being of the community
