The Chicotsky last name has been recognized in the greater Fort Worth area for over 100 years thanks to numerous members of the family taking on civic and economic leadership roles; giving back to the community. Aside from the family’s real estate interests, they have owned grocery stores, a farm, and auto parts stores, along with the oldest liquor store in Texas  opened in 1933. In 1949 Dave Chicotsky purchased two acres of land on West 7th St. and built Chicotskys Shopping Center, the largest strip center in the city at the time.
