<p><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>I was born in Monticello, Arkansas, the fourth child of a farmer/carpenter and homemaker, and honed my negotiating skills and killer instincts while growing up with my older brothers and sister.</span></p><p><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>Soon after high school I moved to Houston, and attended San Jacinto College until circumstances dictated that I become employed full-time. In 1984, I enrolled in Southwestern Paralegal Institute. Upon completion, I worked as a legal assistant for DeLange, Hudspeth, Pitman &amp; Katz, and returned to San Jacinto College at night to continue my education.</span></p><p><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>I graduated from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, in 1989 with a B.A. in American Jurisprudence, and moved to Jackson, Mississippi. A few months later, as fate would have it, my husband&rsquo;s employer needed his services in Houston, and I gladly returned to the land of Blue Bell and bluebonnets. While I was in Mississippi, I worked at Thomas, Price, Alston &amp; Jones as a legal assistant while attending law school.</span></p><p><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>Back in Houston, I was accepted at South Texas College of Law and became employed with Hirsch, Glover, Robinson &amp; Sheiness. Working full time and attending law school at night, I graduated in 1994.</span></p><p><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>The years working as a legal assistant provided me with the experience and knowledge to allow me to open my own office. My practice consists of a general civil practice with an emphasis on real estate, probate, elder law and estate planning. Many of my repeat clients are small business owners. I am a member of the Houston Bar Association and Solos Supporting Solos. I am a trained mediator and arbitrator, which means I am an advocate of resolving disputes outside of the courtroom, if possible.</span></p><p><span face='Arial, Arial, Helvetica' style='font-family: Arial, Arial, Helvetica;'><span size='2' style='font-size: small;'>My goal is to offer my clients personalized service at affordable rates. My approach to being an attorney is to be a problem solver, whether or not the solution involves the legal system. Hard work and perseverance are the keys to my achievements, and the backbone of my practice. I believe in taking the time to visit with and getting to know my clients, as this allows me to better serve their needs.</span></span></p>
